This page explains what the [pending: domain] website and the RefMe app for iPhone store on your device, why they store it and how you can delete it. By that we mean cookies and anything that works in a similar way, such as browser storage or an app’s own storage. Both are run by [pending: owner name or company name]; you’ll find the full details in the legal notice.
In short
- The website uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you from one site to another.
- The app only keeps what it needs to work on your iPhone: your session, the theme you choose, your permission to analyse images and an image cache.
- There are no ads and no tracking, on the website or in the app, and the app has no analytics tools from other companies.
- That’s why we don’t ask you to accept cookies: there’s nothing to accept.
This website uses no cookies
When you visit this website, we store nothing in your browser: no cookies, no local storage, nothing of the kind. Everything it needs to work comes with the page itself:
- The language is part of the address: English pages start with /en/. There’s nothing to remember.
- Light or dark mode is set by your device. The website simply follows it.
- The fonts are served from this website, not from Google Fonts or any other service.
- Nothing from other sites is embedded: no YouTube videos, no TikTok or Instagram posts, no maps, no social media buttons, no ads. Nobody else can set cookies through this website.
The website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. As with any website, your browser sends it your IP address and some technical details (such as your browser and language) so it can show you the page. That isn’t a cookie and nothing is stored on your device; we explain it in the privacy policy.
Your browser’s cache
Your browser keeps copies of pages, fonts and images on its own so the website loads faster next time. And when you hover over some links, the website fetches the next page in advance so it opens instantly. That cache only holds the website’s own files, your browser manages it, and you can clear it at any time in its settings.
Cloudflare security cookies
Cloudflare also protects the website against attacks and automated traffic. Only if it turns on its bot protection, or asks you to pass a security check (“are you human?”), may your browser receive one of these cookies:
| Cookie | What it’s for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Telling people apart from automated programs (bots) | 30 minutes of inactivity |
cf_clearance |
Remembering that you’ve already passed the check, so you don’t get it again | 30 minutes |
Cloudflare sets them for this website only. They are technical cookies, strictly necessary for security, and they can’t be used to work out who you are or to follow you across other sites. That’s why the law doesn’t require us to ask for your permission to use them.
Analytics without cookies
To know how many people visit the website and which pages they find useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It works with a small script that, as each page loads, tells Cloudflare that someone has viewed it.
What we see are totals, never the visits of a specific person:
- which pages are viewed, and how often;
- which site you came from (a search engine, for example);
- country, device type, browser and operating system;
- how long each page takes to load.
According to Cloudflare, this tool:
- uses no cookies or local storage, and stores nothing on your device;
- doesn’t identify you by your IP address or your browser (no “fingerprinting”);
- doesn’t follow you from one site to another;
- doesn’t record what comes after the “?” in web addresses, where sensitive data sometimes ends up.
Cloudflare keeps the details of each page view for 7 days; after that it only keeps an aggregated sample. We can look at totals for the last six months. Cloudflare, Inc. processes this data on our behalf and is based in the United States: the safeguards for that transfer are set out in the privacy policy.
We do this on the basis of legitimate interest: knowing, overall, what works on the website so we can improve it (more in purposes and legal bases). If you’d still rather your visit wasn’t counted, you can block the script with any content blocker or turn off JavaScript. The website works just the same.
In the app
The RefMe app doesn’t use cookies of its own: it isn’t a website. Whatever it needs to remember, it keeps in its own space on your iPhone, which only the app and its extensions (the Share extension and the Lock Screen one) can reach. This is everything it stores:
| What is stored, and why | How long |
|---|---|
| Your session, so you stay signed in without typing your password every time. These are your account’s access keys, issued by our account service (Supabase). | Until you sign out, delete your account or uninstall the app. |
| The date you agreed to let us send your images for analysis, so we don’t ask before every analysis. | Until you delete your account or uninstall the app. Signing out doesn’t remove it. |
| The theme you pick in the app’s settings (auto, light or dark), so the app looks the way you like. | Until you change it or uninstall the app. |
| A cache of images you’ve already seen (covers, clothes, your wardrobe and shop thumbnails), so they don’t have to be downloaded again. | They delete themselves after a week, or sooner if iOS needs the space. |
| A copy of the photo or screenshot you choose or share with the app, so it can be sent for analysis. | At most until you uninstall the app. iOS may delete it sooner to free up space. |
| The cover of the video you’re analysing, to show it on your Lock Screen (in the Live Activity) while we search. | Until you uninstall the app. |
| The “your pieces are back” reminder, scheduled on the iPhone itself to let you know when your free allowance renews. | Until it goes off, you sign out or you delete your account. |
All of this is strictly necessary for the app to work, or something you asked for, like the theme, and it isn’t used for anything else. What we do collect to provide the service (your account, what you analyse, your wardrobe) lives on our servers, and we explain it in the privacy policy.
No tracking, no third-party tools
The app has no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools from other companies. It doesn’t use your iPhone’s advertising identifier and doesn’t follow you across other apps or websites. That’s why it will never ask for permission to track you.
Shops you open from the app
When you tap a product, the shop’s website opens in a Safari sheet inside the app. That website belongs to the shop, not to us: it may use its own cookies, and ask for your permission to do so, under its own policy. We don’t set them and can’t read them.
Product thumbnails are downloaded straight from Google or from each shop, so those companies receive your IP address (we explain this in the privacy policy). If one of those servers sends a cookie along with an image, iOS may keep it for that site; we don’t use it or read it.
How to delete it
- Signing out, in the app’s settings, removes your session from the iPhone and stops this iPhone from receiving notifications for your account.
- Deleting your account also removes the date of your permission to analyse images. You’ll find the steps in Support.
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stores on your iPhone, including the cache and the image copies.
Why you don’t see a cookie banner
Spanish law (article 22.2 of the Information Society Services Act, LSSI) requires asking for your permission before storing or reading information on your device, except where that’s needed to transmit the communication or strictly necessary to provide a service you’ve asked for.
On the website we store nothing; the analytics uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and Cloudflare’s security cookies, if they appear, fall under that exception. In the app, everything stored is essential for it to work or something you choose. So there’s nothing to accept or reject, and a banner would only waste your time.
If we ever want to use something that needs your permission, we’ll ask before using it, with saying no just as easy as saying yes, and we’ll explain it here.
Changes and contact
If anything we store changes, we’ll update this page and its date. You’ll find the version history at the end.
If you have any questions, write to us at [pending: privacy email]. How we handle your data, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights are explained in the privacy policy.
